At the end of the first week, each of my three Kw/H calculations differ from yours considerably.

For example; Church hall Rate 2(night) First reading: 56133 and after one week: 56528 = 395Kw/H
395 Kw/H x 6.59pence per Kw/H(Opus) = £26.03 plus 12pence per day standing charge = 84pence
So Total = £26.03 +0.84 = £26.87

Your Energy column (Kw/H states £36.44)

Please explain.

    Hi Michael,

sMeasure performs a simple cost calculation based on a tariff per kWh that you can enter or a default tariff if your own is not set. You can set your tariff by going to the "Buildings" tab and clicking edit for your building. The cost for that week is the consumption in kWh multiplied by the tariff, it is an indication only,

    Best wishes,
    Alex

    Alex, thank you.
I have already set my electricity tariffs and have just checked again (buildings tab and edit for each building.)
As you say, it is simple multiplication of Kw/H and tariff so why does my calculator give me 395 x 6.59 = £26.03 whereas your Energy column still shows £36.44 ?
This is more than an indication, it is a 30% error. Or am I doing something wrong?
    Best wishes

    Hi Michael,

It looks like there is a bug that is causing your consumption to be reported higher than it actually was. On the meter readings table you will see that the consumption is much greater than the difference between the two readings.

I have forwarded to our developer to look at, in the mean time enter your readings as normal as I think the issue is only at the start of a new meter. I will keep you informed.

    Best wishes,
    Alex

    Hi Michael,

It looks like this isn't actually a bug but due to the two readings in question being taken less than 7 days apart.

The first reading was taken on a Wednesday and the second the following Monday. The consumption is calculated over the 5 days and then scaled up by 7/5 to give an estimate for the weeks energy use.

It is fine to enter readings on any day of the week but we recommend Monday mornings as consumption is then compared directly to degree days (for weather analysis) over the same time period. If you enter readings on a different day the system will interpolate what the reading would have been if entered on the Monday.

    Best wishes,
    Alex
