Graphing - what do you want to see?
We are going to be working on the graphs in SMEasure. The graphs can be viewed in the buildings tab. We would really like to hear from you about what information you most want to see presented graphically in SMEasure.
There are 2 types of graphs:
1) Summary graphs
These are currently line graphs showing either gas/electricity use, money spend or carbon emissions overtime. Hovering your mouse over data points enables you to see the use, spend or emissions for that date.
Things we could do - what do you think?
a) Ability to tag events with a data point - e.g. heating goes off, boiler serviced etc.
b) Select time period - e.g. last 6 months, year (fiscal or calendar)
c) Display gas or only electricity use separately
d) Monthly bar charts of energy consumptiob broken down by gas and electricity
e) Exportable graphs to share with staff
f) Improved legends
g) Other ideas?
2) Analysis graphs
These graphs give you information about your building's energy
performance. At the moment these graphs' are not complete, as they
need more labelling and explanation. We will be providing example
illustrations and explanation so you will be able to easily
understand what is going on with you own buildings energy
performance.
Please do comment here or email me directly to let us know what graphic information you want in SMEasure.
Thank you, Catherine

Is a CUSUM analysis chart something that you may include in the future. It seems to be used extensively in energy monitoring. Could you clarify, in a way that is clear to someone new to this field, what the CUSUM analysis is doing and any benefits compared to the control chart.
Thanks

a) Ability to tag events with a data point - e.g. heating goes off, boiler serviced etc.
Very useful - maybe with "tumbs up" "thumbs down" as in it's expected that event should reduce energy or worsen it (ie - thumbs up for servicing boilers or tweaking thermostats, thumbs down for purchasing and installing more computers?)
d) Monthly bar charts of energy consumptiob broken down by gas and electricity
Can we maybe have something where you can see submeter contributions compared with one another? That way I could see if one region of the building is creeping up over time compared with another? Maybe it could be monthly stacked bar charts with submeter contributions, or maybe it could be a line graph showing the different submeter profiles?
e) Exportable graphs to share with staff
YES YES YES! Or a little graph widget that can be embedded in an HTML site?!?! That way the schools I'm working with can publish the information on their normal school site?

Hi
I would like to be able to select the amount of Data going into these graphs of the summary and analysis. I have got a years worth of weekly readings and I supplemented that with Monthly and Quarterly readings that I had before I found Smeasure.
The graphs are getting hard to use because they now span a three year period and I would like to be able to restrict the time frame.
For me the ideal would be being able to see 14 months worth, about sixty weekly readings, giving a comparison of two months from the year before with the whole year. Obviously if it was feasible it would be great to be able to select any time period and perhaps be able to compare separate periods next to each other.
Thanks

the changes to the graphs are great - thank you!
