meter reading days
I'd first like to start buy saying that I think SMEasure is a wonderful resource. However, I'm a little confused about meter reading days and I'd just like to seek some clarification. I work for a small community organisation to help reduce environmental impacts.
We buy weekly degree days data, which are collated from stations are as listed in the Carbon Trust CTG004 guide. Weekly degree days data are produced on midnight Friday, therefore, meter readings need to be taken as soon as possible on a Saturday morning.
SMEeasure, appear to use a wider range of data monitoring stations, but it seems that most, if not all of the reference stations as listed in the Carbon Trust CTG004 guide are also incorpoted, as listed on the ECI website. However, users of SMEasure are required to take meter readings on a Monday morning.
From the two examples, there is a two day difference in when to take weekly meter readings - both from data which I am assuming to be collated from the same monitoring stations.
If any light could be shed on the collation of data from monitoring stations, that would be welcomed.
Many thanks.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for getting in touch.
Our datasets in SMEasure calculate weekly degree days from midnight Sunday to midnight Sunday and they do this using hourly temperature readings from the Met Office weather stations. Other datasets tend to use max and min daily temperatures to do the calculation which is a far worse method.
Hence monday morning is the best time to take a reading.
I hope this helps. Otherwise, do not hesitate to get in touch again.
Best,
Muriel
