Himalayan swim for climate change
Earlier this year extreme swimmer Lewis Pugh swum 1 kilometre across a 2 degree Celsius lake in the Himalaya to raise awareness about our changing global climate. Without even a wetsuit he took the plunge in Lake Pumori which has been created by recent glacial melting on Mount Everest. Mr Pugh attended the TED conference in Oxford last month to talk about his experiences. You can watch the video here.

Giant iceberg breaks from Arctic glacier
A 100 square mile block of ice has broken off from the Petermann glacier in north-west Greenland. It is the largest Arctic iceberg to break off since 1962 and has an area four times the size of Manhattan. According to researchers the first six months of this year global temperatures have been the hottest on record. This massive calving has been hailed as continued evidence of accelerated climate change. Read the full story here.
